We have been so busy this year working on the blog as well as making final edits on the cookbook, so we were grateful for a small respite the last few days. Now it is back to the grindstone, with preparations for New Year’s eve and a proper New Year’s Day feast.
New Year’s Eve
Here we are, nearing the end of 2015. We hope you are all having a lovely holiday season, and are ready for New Year’s Eve. If you are wondering what to serve for your New Year’s Eve celebration, look no further. These brandied nuts are festive and delicious, and can be served atop baked brie, ice cream, or cheesecake. Yum!
So, save some of your brandy for this delicious treat, and ring in the New Year in proper style.
3/4 cup hazelnuts (peeled and toasted)
3/4 cup toasted almonds
3/4 cup toasted pecans
1 cup honey
2 Tbsp. brandy
1 tsp. vanilla
Combine nuts in medium sized bowl.
Combine honey, brandy and vanilla in small saucepan and heat until it comes to a simmer. Pour honey mixture over nuts.
Store in refrigerator in a glass jar. Serve over baked brie, cheesecake, or ice cream. Makes about 2 1/2 cups.
